Why aren't my Morning Glory Seeds coming back this year?

I had Morning Glory seeds that came back up every year, now this year they have not. Do they just get old after so many years ? We did have a mild winter.

they usually survive mild winters very well. How many years did you have them? They re-seed them selves so maybe the flowers from last year did not produce as many seeds.
