How to redesign a short, steep slope?
we have a gate that leads to the alley where we put our garbage cans...there is a steep, short slope from the bottom of the gate to the alley street that gets muddy & slippery (in the pacific NW). Need some ideas to make it a little more safe and nicer looking. thanks!

How about put in a couple of wooden steps into the slope? Nothing too complicated, just something to give you some grip when walking there.
