How do you get old contact paper off of wood or particle board?

I want to redo a small wood cabinet that someone applied contact paper to the sides.
It's real cute small one. Don't know why they did it.
thanks for any help.

Try using your hair dryer at the corner to see if the paper will lift. Heat may be the answer.

I used an iron on low setting with a towel covering the area and the contact paper came right off.

Try spraying goo gone on the contact paper to loosen enough to remove, then apply more to be able to remove the remaining glue.

I've had success by holding an area that's unpealing, and then heating the contact paper while pulling on it. It comes off like a charm!

Just used a hot iron with the steam on, and with the combination of heat and steam got some 30+ year stuck on contact off of particle board with some muscle and a scraper.
