There are kits available. As a former home builder and remodeler basic rule of thumb. If the tiles are stiff, crack easily, measure 8" to 9" square, they have asbestos in them. If the are soft, flexible, and are 12" square they are more modern tiles with no asbestos in them. If they are asbestos removing them would require a professional company to remove and properly dispose of the debri. If they are in good condition with barely any cracks or breakage you can cover them up with another flooring. According to the EPA standards this is known as "encapsulation". Covering them with another flooring prevents any further deterioration, cracking, or separation from the substrate.
Yikes. My house was built in 1947 and I remember my Mum tiling the floors with small gray tiles. Fortunately, all the tiles were pulled up to be replaced with vinyl EXCEPT the upstairs bedrooms which I never use. Those I covered with wood laminate.
GET A PRO! That stuff is not to be fooled with and u want to be sure it's not there. I know they realized the dangers of asbestos at a certain time and stopped using it so if ur floor was put in AFTER that date u should be ok, but better safe then sorry
