You can insert structures that vibrate in your yard (like a windmill). The vibrations should startle them away.

There are solar paneled sticks that you stick in the soil, it makes a tiny sound every minute and we have not seen a gopher since.

I use Gopher Purge, it does work, you just need to know what to do with the plant...Dig out the hills until you see the tunnel, place 1 or 2 leaves(depending upon the size of the leaf) into the tunnel & cover the hole; after you have done all the hills...watch over the next few days to see if there is any activity. IF you see any new hills or re-activated old hills...repeat the process. Soon the moles will leave & take over your neighbor's yard; but, be a good neighbor & share the knowledge of Gopher Purge with them. NOTE: Some people are mild to highly allergic to the sap of this plant [it's milky white & sticky like that of poinsettia], so please wear gloves & wash your hands afterwards.

  • If you or if you know anyone who has snakes, keep the skin when they shed and place a good long piece in each in hole. They won't be back. Tried and true!
