Decide how large you want your 'raised garden,' then set your saw horses where you want it to be; measure off the distance between the saw horses & then the width to cover the top of the saw horses. If you have the material at hand...measure & cut your side boards & ends & putting a metal corner brace bracket on the outside overlapping ends & re-enforcing the corners with nails or screws will help stabilize the 'box.' Cut boards the length of the WIDTH of the box [where it's shortest] & line them up beginning on the edge & across the entire length of the 'box,' so that it is covered...it should look like a mini-deck. With the boards in place, nail or screw the boards down keeping them evenly lined up-secure all of them...NOW secure '2 runner boards' from one end to the other on the long sides of the box [this will support the boards so they won't pull out due to the weight of the soil inside]. Once you have fastened the boards down on both sides, you can have someone help you turn it over onto the sawhorses. CONGRATULATIONS! You have now built yourself a mini garden & it's ready to fill with soil & to be planted! NOTE: Some gardeners like to line this type of box with plastic before they fill it with soil to help protect the wood from moisture & rotting.
