Can cherry tomatoes be planted in a hanging basket ?

  • You can, but I do not think you would get the same yield as if planted in a large pot or in ground. BUT, I think it is an interesting idea and if you are willing to sacrafice one plant to experiment and try, I say do it! You have nothing to lose really.

How about one in a hanging planter and one in a pot or in ground and compare the yield? β˜ΊπŸ…

Yes! This is the whole hanging tomato idea! It would be best upside down, and with plenty of dirt. Check out the hanging tomato plants on Pinterest.

Definately. Try one of those upside down tomato planters. What could it hurt?

I planted several last year in plain plastic hangers and they did fine. No special plants either. I loved them!!
