    What is on the roof?

  • I have a composite shingle roof and have never "cleaned" it, but I do not live where it snows nor do I have a tree dropping leaves on it either. I supposed you could, is there a specific reason why you want to do this?

Does it have moss on it or just dirty? There are companies that do this. I have one coming out to do ours. Don't let them use a pressure washer as it will wash some of the grit off the shingles. They aren't that expensive either.

No moss, probably just accumulated tree debris. It's an asphalt shingle and I thought about power washing it so your comment was very helpful. Thanks!

is it stained, like rust stains? Those won't clean off. If it's just general dirt, leaves, etc., weve used just a long handled scrub brush like you use for cars/trucks, & a mild detergent, such as Ivory dishwashing liquid.

Thanks for the suggestion! Sounds like a ladder and car scrub brush might do it. Although hate ladders...
