Foolproof way to get holly hocks to" take" in my yard?

    When planting, hollyhocks should not really be planted close to hedges or shrubs as they both usually have very hungry roots which will take the nutrients needed by the hollyhock plant. As you start seeing them grow higher, it's a good idea to help them out with some supportive steaks.

    My mother always said the less attention I pay to the hollyhock the better it grows!
