What is the best way to keep weeds outof my tomato patch?

    You can of course pull them out on a weekly basis, but if you are wanting a simpler solution - pour boiling water on them, or spray them with vinegar. Make sure not to hit your tomato plant with vinegar, it'll kill it too.

    First you need to take out as many weeds as you can, put down Preen weed preventer then put mulch of your choice. I personally like to use grass after the lawn is mowed, or my shredded leaves from last fall. These can be tilled in next fall or spring to amend the soil. You just put down more as it degrades and it helps the soil to not dry out so quick.

    I use a hand cultivator and remove them by hand

    I use scrap carpet that we pulled up from the bedroom. it keeps weeds down and dirt moist ... it works so well that I'm making it my mission to let the world in on my secret!
