Ideas for grade school graduation party

Since there are so many grad parties at once, we wanted stuff that was a little different. So we had a smoothie bar! Everyone loved it because it was different, and refreshing! And instead of a poster full of pictures of the grad,

I took a copy from each school year picture and blew them up., Then I cut out the heads and hung them from the ceiling. Everyone got a chance to guess which picture was which year! It was fun and unique! Have a blast, and no need to spend a lot of money.

Our whole 5th grade has a BBQ every year. Everyone brings something for a pot luck and if someone is up for grilling hot dogs and burgers even better. Everyone ate together and then we all play games - Beach ball volleyball, kickball, water balloons, etc. We had sharpies where everyone signed each other's beach balls. Taking breaks for Popsicles. A giant celebration with friends. It was a blast!

On another note, after my youngest graduated we had a party for all the teachers who had taught our kids - 10 years at Timnath party. We invited them over and thanked them for their time with our kids. We had appetizers, drinks, and a party favor to go home. The teachers were so excited and grateful.

boys or girls?

We did a potluck BBQ and had a ping pong table set up. A table with a big puzzle with four chairs and board games at other tables. The kids just seemed to move from each table or activity without any prompting! We had folks of various ages and the interactions between kids and grandparents was charming.

I tied red, yellow and blue balloons (primary colors) tied to folding chairs. On each patio table, I put a center piece consisting of an empty soup can set in a brown paper bag with it's too rolled down and tied with primary color ribbons. I filled the cans with dirt, topped off with a round cut of ground cover. I set various graduation picks in the grass and tied long ribbons with balloons to those picks!!! All balloon's were filled with helium.

We had folks stay longer than any other party we've given! Of course, there was a big graduation cake! Hope some of these ideas interest you! Have fun!
