How do you clean a metal awning?

• Fill a large bucket with water and add the recommended amount of solvent (refer to the back or side of the solvent bottle).
• Wet one awning with a hose. Next, submerge a brush in the cleaning solution, and then scrub the awning. Rinse thoroughly when finished scrubbing; do not let the cleaner dry onto the awning.
• Repeat the cleaning process on each awning.

• If you miss any areas or if some are hard to reach from the ground, set a ladder against the building near the awning and scrub the area with a hand held brush, rag or sponge. Rinse well.

While the awnings dry, rinse oxidation and soap residue from concrete or wood. It will leave a residue on the former and stain the latter.

Ive used one of those car washing brushes that you hook on a water hose with a little did soap or car wash soap and scrubbed it.

Spray with Mold Armor hose attachable spray. Let sit 5 min. Scrub with car wash brush. Rinse

If your aluminum awning is only moderately dirty, spray it down with a garden hose, and use a soft-bristled brush if the water wash doesn’t do the trick,

If the dirt is heavier, clean your aluminum awning with mild detergent, dish soap or household cleaner mixed with water. You can use a cloth rag or brush, if needed. A solution that might meet your needs is the following: 1/3 cup of detergent; 2/3 cup trisodium phosphate; 1 gallon of water.

We have used a pressure washer to clean my Dad's awnings. Use the gentle cycle. Stand back several feet so that the water reaches up high.
