Can a lampshade be painted with latex or chalk pain?

    Yes! Actually, you can paint almost anything. The lampshade might take a coat or two - I think it might absorb and be blotchy the first coat. Depending

    on what the material of the lampshade is. But have fun! Paint away!

    I would think it would depend on the material the shade is made of. If it is a fabric lamp shade you may need a sealer first before applying any paint. Otherwise, I'm not sure why you couldn't use a latex or chalk paint.

    I've never painted a lampshade of any kind however, if it's fabric, I would look at spraying with some kind of sealer first so you get an even coverage. You could do a search for "fabric sealer" on the internet or even this site just to see what's recommended. Once you've done that , I think you could safely use whatever paint you want! Have fun!
