I want to paint my oak kitchen cupboards. What is the best way?

My kitchen is a small galley with BLACK granite countertops. Dark! I have read about chalk paint, but I was very interested in using Deco Art Satin Enamel paints because there is so little prep. Simple is better for me because I am disabled. I would appreciate any advise. Thank you!

You can also give chalkpaint a try- you don't need to sand or prime with it and it comes out great! Good luck!

If your cupboards are dark as well, you may want to just sand them & put on a clear sealer instead of painting them or even apply a semi-transparent stain ['white wash'] that will still allow the wood grain to come through, but will lighten it up considerably. Maybe there is someone in the neighborhood or a friend that can help you with your project.
