A FiberArtsy.com tutorial

Do you love plants and flowers? Do you have a house full of houseplants like I do? They sort of multiply around here …I really need to thin the herd and get rid of some of these houseplants. In the meantime, I’ve been busy making some simple macrame plant hangers to get the plants off the floor. Don’t let the word ‘macrame’ scare you. These are not the macrame plant hangers from the ’70s. Those were way too involved! No, these are a super easy, quick (and cheap) way to make your own DIY Plant Hanger.

Supplies Needed:
– 50 ft. Rope Clothes Line (check the Dollar Store)
– Sharp Scissors
– Ruler
Remember the hemp friendship bracelet craze from about 10 years ago? That was macrame so if you made friendship bracelets, this will be super easy for you. The only knot you need to know how to make is the ‘square knot’.

Tie the ends together in a simple, overhand knot.
The basket is formed by tying a series of "square knots" .
All in all, you want 3 rows of 4 square knots each. It sounds complicated but actually isn't once you get the hang of it.
