Make a Cute (and Free!) Laundry Room Lint Bin

7 Materials
30 Minutes
Easy
Pretty things have a magical way of making the mundane better, so I made a pretty laundry room lint bin to replace the simple plastic bag on a hook that’s worked well for the past few months. I love how it turned out! I already had the supplies, so it was a free project. Plus, it took less than 30 minutes from start to finish. Win!
To make this lint bin you'll only need a few supplies that you probably already have:
  • Cereal or instant oatmeal box
  • Wrapping paper (I prefer a high-quality, thick paper)
  • Scissors
  • Double-sided tape
  • Command picture-hanging strips
  • Clothespins
  • Scrapbook embellishments
First, cut the top off your box, then wrap it like a present and secure the paper at the bottom of the box with tape. I prefer to use double-sided tape for a cleaner look. But don’t seal the wrapping paper at the open end of the box.

Instead, leave the ends long and make four cuts, one at each corner, to create flaps like in this picture.
Next, fold each flap down into the open box. Use a few pieces of double-sided tape to stick the paper flat to the inside of the box.
Now, you could just finish your lint bin at this point, but why not make it prettier? Add a decorative label, some alphabet stickers, and 3D scrapbook embellishments to really make your laundry room lint bin lovely. I used a ruler to help line up the letter stickers.
All you need are two medium-sized Command picture hanging strips and two clothespins.

Stick the two strips together per the instructions on the package, then cut them down the middle to create two separate sets. They will each be perfectly sized to fit on the back of the clothespins.

Following the directions on the package, stick the clothespins to your laundry room door or wall. Then, secure your new laundry room lint bin to the clothespins.

The pop of color is just what our boring laundry room needed, and it inspired a little laundry room makeover.
