When do you cut roses back in the fall?

    Roses should be cut back after they are finished flowering for your season.

    In Central Texas they are pruned before they start their spring blooming -- generally mid to late February.

    In January in Southern California, and in early spring when the Forsythia blooms in the Pacific Northwest .

    It depends where you live. Here in So Cal, I cut my roses back mid-January. That is also the time to plant new, bare root roses.
