It is not installed properly if it's shaking. If you're not able to take it down to see what the issue is ...see if you can find someone who can.

Some fan kits come with weights that stick onto the blade to balance it.

Sounds like the fronds are out of balance. Do you have a small level to place on them one by one? Then adjust the attaching screws. You can always ask at a hardware dept. for suggestions.Share your thoughts!

I have 48 weathered fence planks available for arts and crafters. Any suggestions for advertising them? Think of barn wood at is popular.

a handyman told me that when a ceiling fan is unbalanced to put a penny on one blade. tape it close to inside fan blade (on top) and turn fan on to check wobble ,do this ( each time moving the penny out a little bit) over and over until the is no wobble. The sell kits for this, but why waste money. If fan is big; use a nickle. Permanently tape coin when you find the spot of smooth movement.

you can "balance "the fan if you have patience.tape pennies, nickels, etc,to the top of blades that may be out of balance.this is a trial and error job.you will need plenty of patience to get the balance correct once you achieve a satisfactory balanced rotation you can glue your "weights"in their places.

we had to have someone come in and adjust our fan in the living room as it wobbled too, but we have a vaulted ceiling in there and no ladder to fit it, he got up there and adjusted some screws and also had to tighten down the part that attaches to the ceiling and it runs beautifully now
