How can I get my kitchen counter grout clean?

I have unglazed quarry tile with light grey grout on my countertops. Over the years it has darkened in some spots. I have tried all types of grout cleaners plus bleach pens, toilet bowl cleaners, peroxide, baking soda. I am thinking of painting over everything if I can't get them clean. Help!

Have you tried a paste of baking soda and vinegar ? Here's a link to the hometalk page that has several ideas. I hope I've helped .

Baking soda and vinegar is my go to for this type of situation as well.

If all the cleaning tricks have failed then look into a grout pen. They are sold at hardware stores, Walmart, etc.

Ok I have used an unconventional method because I had tile and grout all over my old house. Try it in a little spot first. The Works toilet bowl cleaner. Very cheap at any big box store. Also very thin liquid. Unlike thicker TB cleaners. Pour some in a container use one of those cheap sponge brushes to apply to grout. Let set for a few minutes and use an old toothbrush to scrub. Wash that area and move on to another area. Do not spill on carpet. I also used this on brick my kid had spray painted. It was the only thing that removed fluorescent orange spray paint I had gotten to mark dead limbs.

I used Clorox toilet bowl cleaner with bleach. Squeeze on grout lines, let sit 10 minutes, scrub with toothbrush, let sit 5 minutes, wipe up. Fantastic results. Did it on bathroom floor and kitchen counter. Will be doing it on all my tile as soon as I have the time and energy!
