Many people use chalk paint. It requires no prep, and looks very nice. You may need to put a light finish over that to protect it. But the pain will adhere to any surface. Always a good idea to do a light, quick sanding, but with chalk paint, you don't have to worry about getting any other finishes off before you paint.

I agree, for the easiest project chalk paint is the way to go!

I used Glidden Trim and Door paint. It Flows on good and leaves no brush strokes. I used it on bathroom cabinet that is over 30!years old. Of course you have to take what ever colors they sell because it can't be mixed. It is the consistancy of whipped cream.

I love chalk paint as well. If you don't want to use that, there are a lot of good paints that also have a primer built in. Those will give you good coverage.

Chalk paint! As long as the surface is clean, there is no prep required!
