50/50 bleach and water. Just spray and leave it. You should see improvement in a few hours. May take a couple of applications.

It depends on how much mold you have and why you have it. Is there a leak somewhere? Maybe someone just left a wet towel against the wall? It can be a very serious problem, even affecting health. I would see how far it extends (behind the walls, etc), where it comes from (the cause), and call your local health department if it is more than a small easy fix. They can collect some spores and test them. If it is a spot from a wet towel, say, you can use a bleach mixture and a stiff brush to get rid of the mold.

I have used a mold and mildew remover made by Zep with great success. It is very strong so make sure you can open a window or use a fan and wear gloves.

I was told by our restoration company (after I mentioned using bleach to remove the mold in an area) that bleach only bleaches the mold but to kill it you need to use hydrogeb peroxide. Not sure how true this is, but they are very reputable so this is what I use. OK, yes sometimes I do bleach as well, but both work it seems.
