Any thoughts on what to do with a chipboard floor

I had to rip up old linoleum because my daughter's puppies tore it and I don't have the funds to replace it right now!

Cover it as soon as possible! It will start to come apart if it gets wet. If you can get some roofing felt, that would be a good temporary solution until you can replace it .

When you say chipboard do you mean press board? Chipboard has three designs so if you mean the cheap stuff you see lock-together shelves then yes, cover it soon. If it's the kind that have large chips in it but have been mixed with resin, it is more durable. I am sending you two shots. The first will fall apart and the second shouldn't. If you identity the floor in your home as one or the other, you can go from there.
