How about framing fabric? Buy a yard or 2 of a pretty fabric, frame it, and hang it on your wall.

I just used (and thoroughly recommend) a product by RoomMates. It is peel and stick wall decor. I got mine on Amazon, but have seen it all over. Many designs and it is a snap to install and remove.
All your furnishings, sofa, chairs, pillows, towels, dishes, bedding, anything you have that provides pops of color where you want them.
Hang pretty large scarfs, rugs. Tack up wall murals instead of glueing.
