If you love working with Mason Jars as much as I do, then you are going to love this chic black and gold update. We all see farmhouse style Mason Jars, and while I do love them too, I love creating a modern take on old traditional decor.
I love the smaller Mason Jars too but for this project, I used the larger ones for this project because I want them to house flowers. I think fresh flowers every week would be perfectly chic in my newly designed Mason Jars!
I have this adorable black and gold tealight candle holder on my kitchen counter top and wanted to create black and gold jars to match it perfectly.
So, I started off taping off the areas I wanted alternate colors and once I had the general design ready, I used my spray paint to create a speckled pattern throughout. This is what I came up with.

I used Rust-Oleum spray paint – I love the finish and the color range. It’s what I had handy, so I used it!
Be creative! Tape off the areas you want your design to be then when the first layer dries, you can retape and spray paint again.
Then, I decided to create a speckled effect to match the tealights. I love the results. In the image below, you can see my beautiful Stikwood designed wall. Be sure to read exactly how we achieved this look!
I plan on using them for fresh flowers every week. I’m thrilled how they perfectly match my tealights!
I love eclectic style homes. I think they are so much more interesting than having the same style decor in every room of your house. When you create fun projects like this one, you can easily add color and style to your home without making a huge decor commitment.
You can create them using any colors you love! Use your imagination and bring some fun pops of color into your home!
