Larkspur are annuals & Delphiniums are generally perennial. The ones in my garden are 30 + yrs old.

Same here in Wisconsin. We are zoned 4-5. We've never had any come back.

They are perennials in zones 3-7. I found this site helpful for their care:

What growing zone are you in?

If you don't want them pour some boiling water on them. Might need to dig up the ground a bit. I did this to some flowers that were getting out of hand and they did die down. Have to say they cam back this year but not nearly as bad. I will try again this year but will turn up the ground first.

Delphinums come in as a primary invasive plant on disturbed/overgrazed grass lands, highly poisonous to livestock. Toxic to dogs and cats leads to digestive upset, excitability, and depression, neuromuscular toxin.
