Under deck railings, what's a good way to block toys from falling off?

    Buy a roll of screen, like you use for window screens and just tack it between the bottom rail and the deck. If you get a light color it will blend in.

    Yes, you can build small frames to fit neatly between the rail bottom & the floor of the deck with the screen stretched across the frame. If you want something temporary...use the rolls of foam insulation used for covering water pipes in winter; they can be pushed into place & removed later without damage to surfaces.

    Buy a roll of chicken wire and staple it into to place along the bottom railing .

    I installed a 1x6 board along the deck (on edge)

    A lot depends on how much time or money you want to invest in the project. You could use plastic fencing designed for construction sites, chicken wire or hardware cloth attached to the deck & railing, or you could get a little more fancy & use wooden rails (made for porch railing) cut to size. You could also use wooden or plastic lattice cut to size.
