I have an apt with a really tiny patio. How can I make it feel like home without permanent changes?

Vintage simple furniture helps. A few older adornments hung on a adjacent wall is cool too. As for us...We have old stuff all over the place. We like sitting on out small patio with friends on our old wood furniture. The lady of our home has painted designs on everything from a 1900 curio cabinet to Adirondack chairs to Lincoln dressers. She has become quite proficient at it. Good luck...simply "make it happen."
  • Chairs, maybe a little rug, pillows, potted plants, flowers or herbs, a throw, candles, lanters or string lights, garden art. All things you take with you when you move.

I'm moving to a new apt in a week. It's on the third floor with no ceiling. How can I put a canopy, gazebo or awning, something that's renter friendly to keep my patio from getting rain or snow or too much sun?

Think about making the small space feel like a living area—a rug, soft pillows, a cafe set, or a couple of chairs for coffee or reading. And then add plants.
