DIY Cactus & Succulent Planter Bookends

Turn boring concrete squares into decorative bookends!
To start, tape off first concrete planter at the mid point with painters tape. Using a foam or regular paint brush, paint with 2 coats of acrylic paint color in the color of your choice. Peel back the painter's tape from the planter immediately after the 2nd coat of paint while it is still wet.

Once the paint has fully dried (a couple of hours), tape off a section above the bottom paint and paint with metallic craft paint in the color of your choice. Immediately remove painter's tape while the paint is still wet to avoid paint chipping.
For the second planter bookend, tape off diagonal areas and paint with 2 coats of craft paint in between in the same color as the 1st bookend or a different acrylic paint color. Immediately remove painter's tape while the paint is still wet to avoid paint chipping.
Once the paint has fully dried, apply more diagonal stripes of painters tape and paint in between with 2 coats of metallic paint. Immediately remove painter's tape while the paint is still wet to avoid paint chipping.
