It kinda looks like dogwood but not certain, if there are buds wait till they bloom.

Sorry all, it is a "Clemantis" either dark Purple blooms or White. They like their bottoms shaded by another plant.
Looks like cone flower to me.

Definitely cone flower. I have white one's. Be careful, they take over. Tubular and roots grow sideways.

I just pulled it up on my app, "Picture This". First try: Giant Ragweed. Second try: Jerusalem Artichoke. Also known as Earth Apple, Canadian Potato, Sunroot, Sunchoke, Sunflower Artichoke, Topinambur. Is the purple flower on this plant?
Need to see the blooms to have more of a clue, by the leaves alone, I would say phlox. Sunflowers have broader leaves usually.
It is not clematis, I have a bunch of that growing in our yard.
