Daisy (the tall ones flower longer), rudbeckia, coneflower - all these are sunny plants and low maintenance. Also coreopsis (tickseed).
Stella D'Ora is a beautiful golden yellow lily type flower ( perennial) from the Lily family. Very inexpensive and you can grow them in the ground or in pots.
