In high light, ivy ...can come variegated or dark green. Lanium will grow anywhere (but is highly invasive) sweet woodruff for a woodsy, low light area ( also invasive)
I had the same issue. 2 ideas that have provided beautiful results. One is blue star creeper. It takes some time to spread where you want but is well worth the wait. Another is a succulent I found at Lowes. It is about $16.00 per tray. It is extremely hardy and spreads well. I believe you would be very happy with either.
It is a mixed tray of Sedum.
