Paint Dipped Soup Cans

We needed to get our garden herbs inside for the winter and soup cans were on hand. I love all the paint dipped projects I've seen around the web, so I wanted to try the technique on soup cans and use them to store the plants for the winter.
Painting only part of the soup can really makes the industrial lines of the tin can pop.
Taping off part of the can was easy enough
Drilling or punching holes for water draining on the smaller cans
Using a smaller can inside a larger can made it a planter
I added the paint splatter texture, which gives it a little bit of a retro feel

Is the splatter a type of paint or did you splatter yourself? If so, how? Thanks. They’re great!

Are you using something like Rustoleum for the background color? And what are you using for the spatter color? Do you put something as a sealer over the paint once cured?

These look really nice. It really works with the metal shining through. I also like the colors you dipped and the spatter details add interest. I just read a question on this site, what to do with soup cans? I hope they see your post.
