I'm sure we've all had a patio table that started to rust and break over time. Mine did, but I hating to give up on it. The glass top was still in good shape!

No, this picture isn't crooked, the table is! The metal legs have started to rust and chip away.
First I took the table top off. It was easier than I thought it would be as I just pulled the metal out of the inserts under the table top.
I turned the base upside down to create a new level table base.
I sanded the base and sprayed it with Rustoleum. I chose black because that's what I had on hand. Make sure to wear gloves to protect your hands from any sharp metal! I didn't bother to try and level up the old legs, but made sure to spray inside the leg holes to prevent further rust.
I had this resin planter barrel (12") that I wasn't using, so this became the main body of the table to hold the top.
I added rope to the uneven ends of what now became the top of the base, then put the planter in the center. It was a perfect fit.
Then I just set the glass top on top of the barrel! It took less than an hour. Most of that time was waiting for the paint to dry. (The table top doesn't touch the legs, only the barrel).
If you don't put flowers on top, you could fill the barrel with your favorite decor to let it show through, or fill it with ice and beverages for your next outdoor Bar-B-Que! Thanks for lookin' :)
