It was my grandfather's favorite flower. We have handed it down through generations. We call it the purple flower plant.
could it be Dill? Google Dill and click on "images" at the top to see pictures to compare
Not dill too woody, looks like a wild fern.
I think I have the same thing and can not find out what it is.
That is asparagus. What we eat is just the early stage of and what you are seeing is the more mature, but no longer edible growth.
I think it's asparagus and it's going to seed which means it'll grow even more next year. It could be dill as well as dill can get that big before it goes to seed - to tell for sure, rub the fern part and then smell it. If it's dill you'll totally be able to smell it.
Asparagus fern
It looks like asparagus that has gone to seed. In other words, if you had discovered it a couple of weeks ago, it would likely have looked like and been a stalk of asparagus. Leave it and next year start watching for it before it gets to this stage and you will have some free asparagus to eat!
It looks like dill that is ready to seed. I agree with some of the above comments and just take a small pinch off and smell it!
If it is not asparagus the eating kind it could be a ornamental fern , also called asparagus fern used by florists as filler for bouquets. I have both growing in my yard and they are nearly identical.
It looks like wild flowers I have in my yard. They are pretty when they bloom.
Could it be wild fennel?
