Ugly 70s addition house- ideas how to DIY the front?

We just bought a cute old 1950 Cape with an ugly 70s addition. We like the foyer inside that it creates so really don't want to lose it entirely. Any ideas to minimize the ugly front? What paint trim color? Thanks, all.

Do you like the side walls on the front stairs? If you took out the walls just there and used pillars instead, it would really open it up. Sounds like a lot of work, but it would make it a more appealing facade.
I'm thinking I would do a tan or dark brown
tan I think! It was brown in old pictures I've seen and it looks scary when dark lol. Thanks !
Change out your front door. Or paint it a gloss black. Change the hardware on the door. Paint the rest white or light grey with white trim. Just until you decide if you want to rip off the front or not. I think it's kinda cute.
