You can try painting your roof white. This color will deflect the heat and can cool your house up to 10 degrees!

Plywood sounds kinda heavy for putting on ceiling. I would go with some bead board sheets or tin ceiling tiles, much lighter and you can glue them with liquid nails and a few nails or screws. You can also get them in plastic tiles and paint.

You could add insulation to the attic, and an attic window fan to expell hot air to cool house. You can add a ceiling fan with a reverse button to suck hot air up in summer, and blow hot air down in winter.

If your going to be living there for years, plant some nice big shade trees now. Your nursery can advise you on best trees for your area.

You can add reflecting non-adhesive window film, so your windows reflect heat away from the house on sunny sides. Check Amazon or Tap Plastic.

Keep your curtains, blinds or shades closed during the day, open windows in the cool of the night and early morning to let cool air in, then close up in morning and draw curtains/blinds.

Thanks For the Help. Will you please help me in one thing more?

Which one is good for the asbestos ceiling Bead board or a Bead Board......

Actually if its the ceiling has asbestos, if its undisturbed and not breaking down, it recommended you can seal it with paint.

I did this to my ceilings and it worked real well, the key was the foam roller with the slits 1/2". I used Kilz first cause it was stained, the a bright arctic white from Dutch Bros.

If the popcorn is coming off, or tiles breaking down, then covering would be best solution. Here are some videos to watch and products... https://www.google.com/search?client=opera&q=beadboard+sheets+ceiling&sourceid=opera&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8

Oh and another trick I learned is if you are drilling into the ceiling, put just a bit of shaving cream where you are going to drill, and it will prevent fibers from becoming airborne.
