You can try lemon grass,lemon balm,citronella plant,scented geranium.lavender,mint
Citronella, without fail. And this year my citronella made flowers!

I've tried all of the above,none have worked for me,dryer sheets,help some what,I'm investing in fans this year,one low standing one,to keep them from biting my ankles and one high standing one to blow them away
