Rolling it up will promote mold and mildew. I have several outdoor rugs, and they were made for such use. After a heavy downpour, I would drag around to different spots on the patio or toss over the fence to dry it out quicker.
When my outdoor rugs get wet, I don't roll them up. If I think they need more air to dry, I drape them over something so the back can dry (patio chairs, clothesline, folding chair) and then spread them back out.
Definitely don't roll it up. I lay mine in the sun or drape it over chairs outside to let it dry. They dry really quickly.
