I picked up a few plastic/resin birds at the Dollarama store. They were grey and green and virtually fade away in the garden so I decided to paint them to resemble some of the bird types that actually visit my garden.
The bird at the front is smaller and they are $2.50 each. The larger ones at the back are $ 3.50 each at the Dollarama store. This is what they looked like before I painted them.
Here is my finished flock. I painted them using acrylic craft paint, and then put an outdoor clear coat on them to protect them from the rain. I will be placing them amid my flowers once we have a nice, warm and sunny day. I was doing this project during a few rainy days we have been having.
Cardinal
Bluebird
Goldfinch
Bluejay
The two smaller birds were painted as a Chickadee and a Redpoll
Suggested materials:
  • A birdbook for reference, acrylic paints, clear coat outdoor varnish   (already had)
  • Birds   (Dollarama)
