Retro Clock Makeover

My husband, who I lovingly refer to as "The Intern", brought this cute little clock home from an auction. I loved the clock and knew I wanted a very shabby, heavily distressed finish for this one.

Here is the before pic of the clock. Not in horrible shape but definitely a little dark and dreary for my taste. First thing I do with everything I get is to give it a good scrubbing! A little water, dish soap and vinegar works wonders.

I decided to use a sample I had just received from Dixie Belle Paint. It is a no prep paint, so I skipped the sanding and priming.

The color of the glaze looked blue-ish. But it went on nicely and had a good brownish/gray color when it dried.

I was a little worried that this tiny little sample size wasn't going to be enough, especially in a near white color. But I knew I was going to heavily distress and glaze so I wouldn't need perfect coverage. I believe this is about 4 oz.

I managed to get a good first coat and a fairly decent amount for a second coat out of the jar. I was pretty impressed with how far that little jar went, especially with all of the shelves on this clock. Next step was to glaze and distress.
