How do I flatten a wool rug that was rolled up too long?

I ordered my rugs on the internet and they arrived very well wrapped and wound up tightly. Now I have all these ripple marks that sit up in them and laying them out for a couple of weeks has not helped!

Have you tried cleaning it? I've been able to get wrinkles out that way. If it can't be cleaned with a steamer, you may need it professionally cleaned. Then stretch it out and weigh down the sides and corners

If you can, return it. I spent two times the cost of my beautiful rug on remedies including professional rug cleaning company. We put it down and it looked fine for about half a day, then the ripples reappeared. They told me it was something they couldn't guarantee but I took a chance hoping for the best.

I really loved that rug--but gave it away so now someone else can worry over it. If someone trips and falls over those little ripples it'll cost you more than replacing the rug!

Cleaning it might help but try to hang it. Hang the rug by one end then rotate it the next day, the next day and one more time should help also pull and bend the rug while it's hanging up. Gravity heavy wool

Have you tried rolling the rug with the pile on the inside? That should do it over time a week or so...just reroll it with the bottom out...you may have to tape it tightly ....

I'd try hanging it. If not - call the company! They should probably have a solution..

Have you tried rolling them in the opposite direction? I have heard of people lightly misting the back of a rug but I don't think I would try that unless I knew what the backing was made of. The manufacturer, or supplier, should be able to advise you.

I would lightly mist the corner with 50/50 mixture of fabric softener and water . Then iron it down . If you have a wood floor , be sure to place a towel under the rug and between the rug and the iron .
