If you sit down a glass with a drink in it in less than 5 min it's covered with ants, it's like they are hiding and waiting to attack. how do I get rid of the ants inside my house?

  • At this point I would call in the pros. Sounds like your situation is a bit more than a diy, most likely they are in your walls too. Your home needs a thorough inspection from a licensed professional. Good luck! I know how annoying it can be.

We had black ants aka carpenter ants for years . Destroyed our living room floor. Have your home checked out before this happens .

Sprinkle Borax where you see them. Or buy the ant baits in store. Keep your doors free of water standing.

Hi Glenda, We used to call the little black ants, sugar ants. I would recommend Terro Ant killer. You can find it at Walmart. You should stop seeing them by the next day! Here's a link: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Terro-Indoor-Outdoor-Liquid-Baits-Ant-Killer-II-1.4-Fl-Oz/14551084

    Good luck!

I had the same problem, then found this easy solution. Put 1/2 cup warm water, 1/4 cup sugar and 2 Tablespoons borax in a glass and mix well. Add cotton balls to absorb and set them in ant paths, windows etc. they will be gone in 24 hours!!

Borax,Sugar, water. Put a little puddle or 2-3 on their pathway.do not mix it too strong because you want them to take some back to the Queen Ant.

I'm with the sugar and Borax camp. I just recently tried this and was extremely happy. It did take longer than one day because we were swarmed with them but by day two you could really start to see the difference. Good luck!

Ants follow their trails by the scent of each other as they travel. I used vinegar from the bottle . I cleaned every area the ants travelled over wetting the surface and leaving it to dry. The vinegar wipes out their pathways and hopefully it burns their little feet. I have no more ants so it worked for me. I still clean wherever the little beasties were and where they might go. I have no more ants!

  • I use packaged cornbread mix that says it is sweetened and put it where they are. They will take it to the mound, everyone will eat it and die, they can't digest the cornmeal, but will take it because it is sweetened. Little goes a long way.

I read this from : Itsmemic

Medicated powder from the Dollar Tree. It has eucalyptus in it...menthol...I puff it around my homes foundation..and inside under my birdcages in the cracks under moldings. Work immediately and they never come back. I do this at the first sign of ants..in one day..GONE. The powder is in a very large container and lasts quite awhile too !! And smells great !

Not toxic to my birds OR dog

What if you make a barrier around the house.

I did some research, since we know what works for one person doesn't always work for another. I found this site and it's pretty informative. I know some tips you may not be able to use but there are some good ones also that will hopefully help.

Ants are so weird. One time I found them inside the freezer in the garage!! What would possess them to go inside a freezer only to die? They must have sent signals back or something ~ there were no ant trails only a freezer full of dead ants. Hasn't happened since.
