They are actually Quaker Oats "Grits" containers and I have a bunch of them. Would like to recycle/reuse instead of putting them in the landfill. Other than pencil holders, how could I use them? Thanks for your ideas!

Birdhouses, vases, good size for cotton balls and other bathroom supplies, plastic bag holder, craft room supplies, they would be great pantry canisters for rice or pasta that comes in bags. Paint them white or cover in contact paper and put chalkboard labels on them and your pantry or cupboard will have an organized finished look.

when we were kids we would take a shoe box and cut out two half circles on each side and put the Quaker Oats box as wheels for the box. We would decorate the whole thing with craft paper, string or whatever we had. We would fill the box with Easter grass and then out eggs and candy. You could decorate for whatever holiday you wanted.

That's a great suggestion! We have an upcoming event with the grandkids so this might be a good craft for them to try. Thanks!

Thanks for your comment. These "boxes" are actually round. Could probably be adapted though. Appreciate the suggestion.

We make gift containers out of them...especially for cookies! Just cover it with beautiful wrapping paper that suits the occasion and give them away! They are perfect for 'food' since that is what was in them originally! :)

Decorate them, they could hold kitchen utensils, toilet paper holder, candles, etc. If they are sturdy enough, you put them together 2 make a wine rack or hang on the horizontally for wine or bottles. Go to Pinterest and type in "oatmeal container ", there are several examples.
