    Leaving it open , seal both sides really well to prevent further rust . Then use both sides as planters.

    Paint it your favorite color then plant flowers or perennials. It really looks beautiful.

    If you want to save it, use it for off season kitchen tools (Christmas cookie cutters etc) If you want to use outdoors they make great picnic table supply carriers, or even used as a succulent planter

    Just a different idea, but how about sprucing it up and using to organize the contents of your junk drawer?

    Since Fairy gardens are "in" now, get some tiny gnomes. moss, small plants, pebbles and make a cute masculine Gnome garden. You can find directions online a to soil, charcoal and lining the tool box to keep it from rusting out.

    Clean it, sand, prime, paint it and mount it in your back yard or next to your garden to store your trowel, gloves and other hand tools.
