Looking for a colorful perennial to plant around my mailbox- ideas?

Try an iris. Easy to care for and after the flower is gone still have talk spiking leaves.

Day lillies are hardy and easy care. Stella Doro species is also a re-bloomer. Good luck!

Daylilies are the perfect plant.

If you like the color of lilac/mauve, plant two clumps of Russian Sage. It is VERY tough, thrives anywhere, likes the sun, grows about 24" to 30" high, is a perennial and is a pretty lilac/lavender color and also has a soft "airy" look.

One word of caution, though ... it does spread so keep an eye on it and just pull out any little shoots that pop up. As I said, just plant two plants to begin with - as it will fill in. Many times in gardens, pinks, reds and oranges are more prevalent, that's why I like to plant some blue or mauve-colored plants as a contrast and add a "cooling effect".

I thank everyone for their suggestions. After much thought and deliberation, I think I'm going with Lantana, the yellow/red variety. And I hope their is a dwarf version of this plant as a neighbor of mine has it on both sides of her driveway and every summer it grows very TALL and BUSJY. Mine is next to my driveway and I'd prefer a smallish plant so am hoping I can find a dwarf Lantana.
