Cedar Squares from the craft store makes the PERFECT base for a mini planter!
To make this distressed planter box, take wood of your choice and add some gray stain.

I used the end of a foam brush to apply it.
Wipe it with an old rag and be sure to leave some wood showing through. Don’t forget to stain the sides.
Once it’s dry, add some white paint to the entire front and side of the wood.
Let it dry for a few hours then lightly sand the top and sides it with a fine grit sander. The harder you press, the more distressed the look so customize it the way you want.

You’ll have something that looks like this.

Just a tip, be sure to protect the surface you’re sanding and wear clothes you don’t care about. This stuff is very messy and gets everywhere!
Next, clean your area and take a dry paper towel and wipe off the residual dust from the wood.
Glue the wood together two pieces of wood
I actually ended up flipping the wood upside down and hammered in the nail to keep it in place as it dried.
Repeat on the opposite end and the center and Continue gluing down the rest of the pieces until you get something like this.
wanted the bottom to have a sort of platform so I just glued the wood directly on the bottom.

Add some painters tape and let it dry overnight.
The next day, I removed the tape and added some filler to the box.

fill it to the top and make sure its near the edges.

Add a faux succulent and you’re all set.
