Is there an ice cream store near you? We got a bunch of large ice cream tubs from a store for free. stack them on their sides and glue or tape or tie together. Then you can attach to a wall with a butterfly bolt.

Check out yard sales. My daughter furnished her daughter's playroom with a bin unit from a consignment store, a series of play areas (store, kitchen, laundry) found at yard sales, a wardrobe for dress up from an old dresser. Color makes it special with artwork displayed on the walls (one large canvas is a painting her guests did at her five year birthday party). String fastened to the walls displays current projects. The two work tables are second hand, just scrubbed spotless. The large room was initially furnished for under $100.

Craigslist or Freecycle. My county licensing agency also has rentals and referrals of some things.
