How decorate a small room paint in dark red?

i WOULD ONLY DO 1 WALL DARK RED AND MAYBE THE OTHER WALLS A LIGHTER RED.

Add a mirror to one wall to make the space look larger, avoid clutter or too many knick knacks, and don't have too many dark things in the space.

The red makes it very dark and dingy especially with the dark brown furniture too. If you do want to keep a bit of the red I will just keep one wall red and paint the rest of the walls in a light cream. Use throws and scatter pillows in lighter colours and different textures to lighten up the furniture. A nice big Mirror with a beautiful frame on one of the walls will also give the illusion of more space

If you really don't plan on repainting in a cream, consider bringing in a Victorian theme and use warm lighting.

Don't forgot to add some plants, greenery works wonders.

Repaint with a lighter color

A huge mirror opposite that lovely big window and plain cream cushions with just very small flashes of red in cushions and throws. Definite only one wall red though, other walls white?

Leave on wall the red and change the other walls to a lighter taupe ,beige,or cream

Because it sounds like you don't want to paint, I would put up a mirror, use white accessories on the walls, (creams, eggshells, ect.), use uplighting behind plants, lighting over art, and go with the Victorian theme someone else suggested. Be careful of your window covering, if privacy isn't an isue, use lace, they can also be paired with shades. If you use tropical looking plants, stick shades and sheets would give it another twist.

PS you could also use a light table runner on the coffee table, but I think moving it better. Is your couch facing a tv? If not, I would face furniture to the window wall, your couch might not fit there but the two chairs with the coffee table between, would still be useful and not look out of place, which I think it does now.

Cream and red would soften the walls and make the room look bigger.Definately a beautiful cream framed mirror and pic frames for the red walls.Some white cushions and a cream chair throw , would be lovely ,also a big white fluffy rug and viola ie there you go.

I would use a lot of shiny metalics like gold or copper. Also only use sheers on the window.

Please post a picture of the area you stood in while taking that photo, maybe take it from the kitchen area. I have of ideas

Ok place the larger sofa on the wall across from the windows and the smaller sofa where the picture was taken to make an L shape with 1 end table between them. The wall between the window place console for tv and white fluffy rug under table and the wall with that medal thingy place a chair there and the other end table use white pillows and over the larger sofa put mirror. Here's a few picture to help with the transition.

Add some fat white crown molding to go with your other trim - it will make a big difference! If you love the red, keep it!

Find some accessories with the red from the wall and the brown from the sofa to tie everything together. Pillows, throw blankets, rugs, lamp shades, and window treatments.
