Gift giving is not really my speciality, but I can say that I love to give and receive gifts that are practical and useful. As Father’s day is just around the corner it’s got me scratching my head of what practical yet thoughtful gift could I give my pops? What’s a daily task that could become something he looks forward to? Heavenly peppermint shaving cream? I think YES. (At least I know I wouldn’t be opposed to starting my day like that!!) Such an easy DIY gift! Heck with summer around the corner and dress season calling my name I am going to make a batch of lavender shaving cream for myself as well!! This recipe is SO easy and pretty inexpensive as well. Let’s dive in…

Ingredients:
  • Essential Oil (Peppermint, lavender, eucalyptus, etc.)
  • 1 cup Shea Butter
  • 1 cup Coconut Oil
Scoop all your ingredients into a bowl…
A few drops of your essential oil….
Now it’s time to blend away for at least two minutes or until you get stiff peaks….
Voila! So smooth and so creamy! Cheers to easy DIYs!!
I can’t wait to take a shower and make some peppermint for my pops! Oh and with a cool shaving set your Father’s Day gift is sure to not be stublin’ (couldn’t resist!)
xo,
Sam

How long does it last in container? Should it be stored in the refrigerator? I’d like to make ASAP. Please let me know. Thank you.

I think I will make this for myself! Would lavender be best for sensitive skin? I love essential oils but am not the biggest fan of the smell of lavender. Could I just leave the eo's out? Or is there another one I could get away with?

How do you not stop up your sewer lines by using all of these oil infused products that aren’t meant to go through your sewer pipes. If you have ever seen how solidified these thing become over a short time and how hard it is to clean out plus the mess it can cause if sewer backs up into your house. Not to mention the price to have it repaired and to have your yard all dig up to find the leak. Never ever put any oily, greasy products down your drains anywhere. Also be careful about the things you put in your toilet also. Pads and tampons or any solids that isn’t bio-degradable should not go in. Never put diapers in. You can dump the poo out into the commode but no diapers, Kleenex, paper towels. So save yourself some trouble and money.
