Make a Pedestal Sink Skirt From a Shower Curtain

If you don't want to see the plumbing behind your pedestal sink, adding a skirt is the easiest way to hide it. Recently, I made a sink rod out of plumbing supplies. Now I will show you how I made the skirt in a pattern I love...Black and White stripes! A $10 investment plus shower curtain rings.
These are the shower curtain rings that hang the skirt. We had extra around but you could find a more decorative style at Target or your own favorite decor store.
Starting with a white tone on tone striped pattern curtain rod. This one was only $9.99 at Homegoods.
Cut the curtain to the length the skirt should be and make sure to add an extra inch for your seam at the bottom. I just iron and stitch witch or fabric fuse mine instead of sewing.
By choosing a stripe tone on tone pattern made a good guide for my tape lines for painting. If you tape the fabric to the table - it stays still while you are working. A large work surface is important.
The curtain is polyester and doesn't need to be super soft. I just used the black paint I always have around. Frog tape works best for keeping the paint in it's place.
Once the paint is dry - use shower curtain rings to hang it on the rod. To see how the rod was made see http://downtoearthstyle.blogspot.com/2014/01/how-to-make-pedestal-sink-skirt-rod.html
The pattern and style add personality to a boring half bath.
